Finn Juhl House
Just north of Copenhagen stands a Danish modernist masterpiece, and, former home of Finn Juhl. Completed in 1942, Finn Juhl’s house is considered one of the most successful functionalist single-family houses in Denmark and truly shows his vision in architecture, furniture design, and visual art. The iconic pieces of furniture, displayed in their intended context, encounter with the spaces, colors, light, art and garden, made it an unforgettable visit. The house is part of the Odrupgaard museum which too is a fantastic place to visit, especially in summer.

l’Hotel de Martel / Galerie 54
Back in August 2021 I made a visit to Galerie 54, housed in l’Hotel de Martel, the former atelier of sculptors Jan and Joël Martel. The building and street were designed by architect Robert Mallet-Stevens and finished in 1927. The visit formed an absolute highlight of our trip thanks to the staff member that took the time to show us around the street, building & extensive collection of Jean Prouve , Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret, Jean Arp, José Zanine Caldas and many others.
If you’re into art (deco), modernist architecture or furniture and you’re in Paris, I’d highly recommend to visit to the Rue Mallet-Stevens and knock the blue door.
